Dubai-UAE: 8 December, 2011 – Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, today announced its partnership with Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) to host a week-long series of ‘Rhythm and Reels’ screenings and concerts at The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR).

DIFF’s activities at The Walk commenced on 7 December with a live broadcast of the opening ceremony and red carpet events from the Madinat Jumeirah. The direct feed from the venue was accompanied with a live DJ providing entertainment.

‘Rhythm and Reels’ opened on 8 December with the screening of ‘Pandora’s Box’, a silent film, to the live accompaniment of the UAE orchestra. Other screenings will include ‘Neil Young Journeys’, ‘INNI’, ‘God Bless Ozzy Orbourne’ and the ‘Muhr Feature Award Winning Film’. The ‘Rhythm and Reels’ event will draw to a close on 14 December.

Introduced in 2007, the ‘Rhythm and Reels’ concept celebrates the mutually enriching relationship between film and music. In its fifth edition, it will feature a host of screenings that touch on this relationship.

The Walk at JBR is regarded as one of the most distinctive and popular entertainment and shopping destinations in the UAE.
